This is the nail polish I wore for New Year’s, Dream Delight from Pretty Serious Cosmetics. (Late much?) I am so very behind on my posts, but oh well.
I bought this polish AGES ago, but as soon as I saw it I knew I was going to save it for New Year’s. This polish is hard to get good pictures of. I saw flashes of different colors on my nails, but couldn’t get the camera to pick them up.
Hello to all the geek girls and beauty lovers out there!
I am a geek girl. As the hilarious and awesome Simon Pegg said,
“Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It’s basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating.”
So, more than just a beauty blog, this is a geek blog. I love science and video games, movies and makeup, nail polish and books…Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars…and so very much more! So, read what interests you and ignore what doesn’t. Or better yet, read everything and maybe be introduced to new things!
I thought for my very first post, I would put up some swatches of my favorite red nail polish (and also the perfect fall red!) I’m still figuring out how to work my camera, so pictures will get updated eventually.
My absolute favorite red nail polish is Nightmaren from Pretty Serious Cosmetics. It’s a gorgeous warm-toned red with a golden glow. Pictures don’t do any of the Pretty Serious polishes justice and I know mine don’t even come close. (I’m working on that.) This polish reminds me of apples and cinnamon and all things fall.
Hopefully you can see the golden shimmer in the polish. Gorgeous!
I wish the glow was showing up in my pictures. I think I took about a hundred pictures trying to get the perfect shot. My husband thought I’d lost my mind! I have a nail polish comparison planned for my next post. I’m going to go practice with my camera (and possibly play some Assassin’s Creed 3!)
